Cosmetic Vaginal Surgery > Redundant Prepuce Removal
The prepuce or clitoral hood is located directly over the clitoris and acts as a protective barrier to the clitoris. Redundant prepuce occurs in approximately 50-60% of patients and is found as a secondary hood which is located laterally and superior to the primary prepuce. The redundant prepuce is actually a second complete structure and begins above the apex of the clitoral hood and ends at the labia minora.
In many patients it is necessary to have this redundancy removed or reduced to have an aesthetically appealing labia minora reduction surgery. The removal of this tissue is called redundant prepuce removal This is purely a cosmetic procedure. All patients below not only had Redundant Prepuce Removal, but also Labia Minora Reduction.
